This week we begin the final chapter of 2 Timothy, and what a chapter it is! The Apostle Paul knows he is very close to death.  Soon after he writes these words, he will be martyred for the cause of Christ. 

So as he gives these final instructions to Timothy, he is speaking with the urgency of one who knows he is about to die, and is passionate that the work of Christ will go on. 

With this in mind, Paul is giving Timothy his final “Marching Orders For Ministry” in 2 Timothy 4:1-5. 

This is a great text for pastors…but not only for pastors.  For we are all called to ministry, whether vocational or not.  What do we see here?  Read it and let’s talk about it on Sunday.  I will see you then!
