My name is David Edgell, the son of a carpenter, and I was born in Northwest Kansas in a little town called Quinter. I am married to Suleah Hunter Edgell. We have two children, Truett and Shelby.

I moved to Texas in 1985 where I was saved and called into ministry. I attended Criswell College in Dallas, TX, where I graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies. During my time in college, I served on the staff of First Baptist Church in Dallas as an education intern. Suleah and I were married in August of 1989 and were privileged to have Dr. W. A. Criswell perform our wedding ceremony. We moved to Wake Forest, NC, in 1992 for me to attend Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I later graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 1995. While attending school I began work as the Minister of Education at Hephzibah Baptist Church in Wendell, NC, where I served for 14 years. I also served as the Senior Associate Pastor at Petsworth Baptist Church in Gloucester, VA., from 2008-2012.

I received my Doctor of Education degree at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2018. I am also an adjunct professor for Liberty University Online and teach in the area of Theology and Pastoral Leadership. I joined the ministry team of FBC July 1, 2012.
